The Teen and Young Mothers Upcycling Project was a pilot initiative focused on empowering teenage and young mothers in the Korogocho area through sustainable entrepreneurship. This pilot project aimed to address both environmental and socio-economic challenges by transforming waste materials into marketable products, thereby creating income-generating opportunities for these mothers.
The Korogocho Teen and Young Mums Upcycling Project was more than just an income-generating initiative; it represented a holistic approach to empowering teenage mothers, fostering community development, and promoting environmental sustainability. By supporting this pilot project, the community invested in the future of these young women and their children, while also contributing to a more sustainable and resilient Korogocho community. During its implementation, Inua Dada supported 30 teenage and young mothers through capacity building and skills training. This program equipped them with essential skills to navigate life’s challenges and meet the demands of the marketplace, with the ultimate goal of empowering them to lead dignified lives.
