Menstrual Health and Hygiene Project - Kakamega

The USAID - Western Kenya Sanitation project works with multiple stakeholders in eight western Kenya counties to create a financially sustainable, transformative, replicable and locally-owned sanitation and menstrual hygiene management marketplace.

Therefore, Inua Dada Foundation in partnership with USAID- WKSP (Western Kenya Sanitation Project), is implementing a Market-Based Menstrual Health Management within the sub-counties of Lurambi, Matungu, and Khwisero, in Kakamega County. The project aims at Increasing access to and uptake of market-based, improved menstrual health products and services at the household level. A key component of the project is creating a healthier environment by promoting the safe disposal of menstrual health products. To deliver this, Inua Dada Foundation conducts Social Behavior Change (SBC) dissemination targeting 136000 people with MHH information and knowledge within two years. The information and knowledge is designed to positively influence community, household, and individual attitudes towards menstruation.
