Restoring Dignity: Over 62,000 Pads Distributed Across IDF Projects in 2024
In 2024, the Inua Dada Foundation (IDF) made significant strides in advancing menstrual health and dignity by distributing 62,060 sanitary pads, reaching approximately 6,206 girls and women across various counties. This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that no girl misses out on education or opportunities due to period poverty.
The pads were distributed through our key programs and partnerships, including direct outreach in Kakamega County. Through local collaborations with community-based organizations, IDF also reached underserved areas in Nairobi’s informal settlements and Kiambu County, offering not just products, but also menstrual health education.
Strategic partnerships played a critical role in this effort. By working with schools, local leaders, and grassroots organizations, IDF ensured that distribution was community-driven and sustainable. This work was complemented by advocacy sessions that addressed menstrual stigma, hygiene management, and rights-based approaches to health.
As we look ahead, IDF remains dedicated to expanding access, deepening awareness, and advocating for menstrual equity across Kenya—because every girl deserves to manage her period with dignity and confidence.
